Description of the organization and its target audience
We are producing a line of cold smoked fish that is a high end alternative to smoked salmon/lox. (in fact, we do NOT make smoked salmon). All the fish we use are WILD CAUGHT, from sustainable fisheries, and then are cold smoked. We offer 5 varieties of smoked fish: Smoked Swordfish, Smoked Yellowfin Tuna, Smoked Escolar, Smoked Chilean Sea Bass, and Smoked Steelhead Trout. We only use all natural ingredients and natural wood smoke, and our fish is wild caught. We use packaging made from recycled materials that is itself 100% recyclable.
So we are targeting an audience who cares where there food comes from and appreciates the wild caught and all natural aspect of our product. At the same time, we are targeting everyone who likes smoked salmon/lox, because we feel if you like eating lox on a bagel, then you will love our product as well. And the wild caught, sustainable, natural, and eco-friendly aspects of our products are just a bonus to it's delicious flavor.

Description
We are using a narrow sleeve for the label that goes around our skin packaging tray. The sleeve does not cover the entire tray, it only covers about 1/3 of the tray, the rest is clear packaging so the consumer can see the product. We want the sleeve for our packaging designed/re-designed. The dimensions of the sleeve will remain unchanged, we are just looking for new artwork for our sleeve.
We have a design already that we have been using, but we are looking for a COMPLETELY fresh take on it. We have a logo that we like, and there are some elements that need to remain such as the Nutritional Information and the Text describing the product. Beyond that, you are free to do whatever you want to create the best looking sleeve packaging possible. Feel free to change the color scheme, the organization, the placement of the logo's and phrases, to replace the photographs or to remove the photographs entirely. Do whatever you need or want to do to create a modern, bold, eye-catching sleeve design. One that helps us highlight the fish, gets us noticed on the shelves, and looks like it was professionally done.
FYI, the dimensions are:
Dimensions of Label wrap = 17 inches long x 3.5 inches wide

Other notes
One of our biggest issues is the photographs.
Our current sleeve has photographs in 2 places: The top and the bottom. We have already decided to get rid of the photograph at the top of each sleeve. This photo was the same on each of the 5 sleeve, and If you look at the second file I uploaded you will see what I mean by use removing it from the design.
That leaves the photographs at the bottom of the page. There are 5 unique bottom photos, each one is of the product the sleeve is designed for. So we have a picture of the smoked swordfish on the swordfish packaging, a photo of the Tuna on the tuna packaging, etc...
We know that if we continue to use photographs of our products on our packaging, then we will have to at least change some of the photo's--to swap them out for better ones. As we were debating which photo's to replace, we thought maybe it would be better to just remove the photographs entirely--to redesign the packaging without photographs of the product. Customers will be able to see the product through the clear skin packaging so maybe there is no need to use photos of the product on the packaging as well. Maybe we do not need ANY photographs on the sleeves at all......
To be honest, we are split, we are hoping that by giving you all free reign to redesign our sleeve you will help us decide what we want and like best. Maybe someone will come up with a design that incorporates our photographs that looks great. Or maybe someone will remove the photographs and that design will look great. We are hoping someone with an eye for design can show us the "right" way for the sleeve to look. We are open to any suggestions you have. Whether it is to remove the photos, to change the photos, to shrink or enlarge, so move from front to back, etc...there are no wrong suggestions!
