This packaging design was created for a contest in which the client sought a bold, eye-catching wrapper for a psilocybin-infused chocolate bar. The goal was to capture a psychedelic, fun, and adventurous aesthetic while maintaining product clarity. To achieve this, I designed a vibrant, retro-futuristic layout featuring a hypnotic swirl, playful color contrasts, and surreal cosmic elements. The typography embraces a wavy, mind-bending style to reinforce the psychedelic experience, while the hierarchy ensures clear product communication. This design balances creativity with functionality, making it visually striking and market-ready.

The client needed a modern, visually striking yet authentic design for their ceremonial-grade matcha, appealing to Western markets. They wanted a balance between modern branding and traditional Japanese aesthetics while clearly communicating the product’s benefits. They requested incorporating a Maneki Neko mascot to reinforce cultural authenticity and luck symbolism. I created a custom illustration of the Maneki Neko and added a traditional green wave pattern for depth and elegance. To enhance clarity, I incorporated custom icons highlighting key product benefits and a bold red frame for strong shelf presence.
