Description of the organization and its target audience
My business: Park Street Community Solutions is an urban planning and economic development consulting practice focused on helping cities and towns across the U.S. become more prosperous, environmentally sustainable, healthy, and equitable. I provide policy advice, training, facilitation, research, and grant writing services to help communities tackle tough challenges (like economic decline) and create real change.
Target audience: Local city and town leaders (rural and urban) who want to make their communities better, and the nonprofit and federal government partners who support them.
Values to communicate with my design: I'm experienced and smart, but also open-minded and friendly. I believe all cities, large and small, have potential for a bright future. And all cities can have strong economies, clean environments, AND happy, thriving residents!
Stylistic preferences:
**I want the logo to be lively, stylish, and interesting (but not off-putting to slightly more traditional government clients).
**I'd like it to be one of two styles: Illustrative, organic, and homespun, OR modern, clean line art or similar. Either way, it should use a stylish, distinctive font (see examples in this brief).
**I'm a city planner, so I want my logo to feature recognizable images from cities and neighborhoods, like houses/buildings, trees/plants, streets/sidewalks (should appear friendly to walkers and bicyclists), street signs/street lights.
TWO LOGO IDEAS: I'm open to your ideas, but two specific designs I'm interested in are:
-A row of the houses on Park Street--see photos in this brief. My business was founded in the mint green house with the purple flowers in front. The colors in these photos could be an inspiration.
-A flower/plant growing up through a crack in the street/sidewalk, to symbolize the work I do with struggling towns to realize their potential.
Thank you! I look forward to working with you!

I like the idea of having a colored background (as opposed to white), but I'm open to ideas.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
I like the combination of the different style fonts integrated with the leaves.
