Mud & Roast is a typographic identity rooted in ceramics and coffee culture, prioritizing materiality and human touch over polished aesthetics. The custom wordmark uses soft, weighted forms and subtle imperfections to evoke clay shaped by hand. The ampersand represents a coffee cup with rising steam. While a familiar symbol, it is resolved through a distinctive typographic approach, integrated into the letterforms rather than treated as illustration.
