New website design wanted for startup WebsiteToolTester

WebsiteToolTester.com (part of ToolTester.net) is a place where beginners can find easy solutions to create a website. No programming skils needed. We compare and review the best website builders in the market and provide tutorials and resources about the topic of website creation. Generally we are talking about 16-45 year old visitors (65% male), who know their way around the web but are not extremely tech-savvy.

With our relaunch we want to give our website a modern, clean look with a responsive design and we want to improve general usability. It should all follow the KISS principle. We want to be seen as a reputable source of quality information that is fun to browse through. Design can be fluid or boxed, whatever you prefer. Navigation: Sticky Navigation that’s always visible at the top when scrolling down & dropdown menu. The design has to be recognizable and fit well into our brand (www.tooltester.net). That’s why we want to keep the logo (text and professor) and blue as a main color (you can change the rest of the colors if you want). You can use the existing website content (text and images) to create the new design. Please freshen existing images up if necessary. It would be nice if you could add elements in a handwritten/handdrawn style to the layout. We are going to use Wordpress. Please don’t use any fancy features that we can’t set up using one of the standard Wordpress templates (e.g. Themeforest). You can also pick a standard template and build upon it if you prefer.

We start with only the home page but we'll need a designer who can help us with additional site types as well (at least two more site types). Please check the attached wireframe to learn more about the structure. Currently the problem is that the home page looks too cluttered.The goal of the home page is to give our visitors three main choices: 1) go to our website builder reviews page (for people who know more or less what they need) 2) choose a specific website type (online store, photography etc.) 3) download our free ebook (for people who first want to learn more) Please don't use a side-column.

-Don't make the design extremely US centric as a big part of our visitors comes from Europe (Germany and UK). -Try not to use a slider banner

-For the final layout we need a screenshot for a desktop computer, tablet and smartphone. -Our logo uses the Sansation font. If you have any questions, just ask. We're happy to receive your feedback!
