jfarrugia got their new web page design by running a design contest:
website design for Adourn
Check out jfarrugia's Web page design contest…
Adourn is an online and an independent physical boutique specialising in exquisite jewellery pieces for both women and men by top emerging and established designers from the UK and around the world. The website format is a marketplace curated by a team of fashion experts, designers, stylists, editors, bloggers and collectors, who illustrate the culture, stories and inspiration behind the collections on the site. We are looking to create the image of a high-end ecommerce platform focusing on building an international online shopping community. Pieces of jewellery will start at $50 and go up to $X,000.
www.asos.com www.net-a-porter www.mywardrobe.com www.shoplatitude.com We like the above sites as they are all modern, interactive, chic and easy to navigate Note that the trend across most the websites is that they are based on two colours only. Feel free to mix greys / blues / blacks / whites. Our preferred choice is dark grey and white. However, please don't just stick to this. You may have better ideas.
To keep the competition simple at this stage we would just like one page to developed at this time. Ultimately we are looking for a designer that can work with us throughout the entire project for a period of approximately three months. We have attached two documents. The first document is a powerpoint slide that outlines the key pages that our website needs for the front end. At this stage we only ask that the designers focus on developing the PRODUCT PAGE. Please see page 12 of the attached presentation which shows the key elements we need for the page. Page 13 provides some inspiration ideas of websites and styles that we like. The second document provides you with two ideas that have been developed already. Please do not just submit ideas that just tweak the existing ideas. We very much want to see what original designs you can come up with The key elemets that the PRODUCT PAGE needs are Part A A. Header B. Footer PART B 1a Product title 1. Main picture of jewellery item with some smaller images 2. Details of the designer 3. Item price 4. Quantity box 5. Add to Bag 6. Favourites button 7. Ask seller a question button 8. Social media buttons 9. Table showing More Info / Style Tips / Delivery / Size Guide 8. Table showing Complete the Look / Recently Viewed 9. Comments section (based on Facebook)
From this competition we are looking to find someone who we are able to work with in the long term to continue designing the front and back end of the site and to work closely with our web programmers. We very much look forward to receiving lots of interesting ideas from you all!
