Niels Flensted got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Web site for global infrastructure service, Throughfare

We provide a simple to use software service that painlessly extends the immediate reach of web applications by providing all things around user sign-up, login, user administration barriers. Using our service immediately lets customers choose to accept users from Facebook, Google, Windows Live ID, OpenID providers, and a range of other identities. Our focus is very much on business-to-business, which specifically need our User and Permission Management service on top of the login choices.

First: Although we are in security and business-to-business there are a few things YOU SHOULD NOT DO: No business men, no locks, no keys, no watch towers, no mountain ranges, no grinning/smiling teeth. 1. page: The homepage is all about simplicity. Simple, easy to use. Very clear communication. Stringent, crisp, trustworthy. The company is about security (identity & access), but still leapfrogging everybody else by our simplicity and "freemium" model (start out free, no cost what so ever to the customer). I have attached to wireframes to illustrate some of my ideas. Please feel free to ignore the implied layout suggestions. One idea I like, is a "tiled" style like that of the Windows Phone, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/. Still I have no idea if 2-6 colored tiles would work with our message, brand, and functionality. 2. page: Once signed in, the user enters the actual application administration interface. The second page is an example of this. I want a layout of the attached wireframe, User Admin.png. It must be of the same simplicity and style as the homepage. The wireframe shows only the functionality. How it is laid out and how it fits with navigation etc. is up to you. And fame and glory to you, if you can come up with a different user experience all together (Two side by side lists are pretty old school, I think. Maybe there is a better metaphor we could use?) I've attached our logo in different colors. (I can get PSD versions to you soon)
There are two intended audiences - Responsible for business-to-business Extranets. - Technical architects in search for a identity and access solution for these Extranets The will be implemented in Microsoft .NET. Very likely we will use the Umbraco CMS.
