We are a web developing company building websites for very diverse clients. The client we need a website design for now is a not for profit organization that runs literacy programs and events in and around Hope, BC (Canada).
We need a design for the home page and one for a normal page. The website will use icons to show the target groups of the different programs and events. We have some sample icons that we cannot (and don’t want to) use. So we will need some new icons for those.
We have come up with a general lay out of what our client likes. This lay out has the building blocks that need to be present on the web site.
The client already has a logo that needs to be used in the design.
You will find the general lay out, the icons, the logo and more on http://wannaread.projectzer0.net/
The design needs to be simple (but not childish) and visually attractive to encourage people with reading difficulties to find available programs and events on the website.
We will provide frequent feed back.
-Adults looking for information on literacy (might have reading and writing difficulties)
-Peer organizations in other districts
-A homepage design and one sub page design.
-9 icons that go well with your design and that represent the target groups of the programs and events (more info on that in the literacy icon pdf on: http://wannaread.projectzer0.net/
-Nice clean and simple (but not childish) design
-No color preference (but not businesslike)
-The main menu should not contain images/should not be graphical (should be in text)
-Please use normal fonts
-Width of design: 1000 pixels max
-The client wants photos of people of different ethnicity and age in the design. These photos should be easy to replace.
-Photos the client likes are on http://wannaread.projectzer0.net/. So please use these for your design (we will buy them once we've picked a design)
-The client also likes the photos used on this web site:
-One of the building blocks in the lay out we have provided, is a map. We have used a real map but for the lay out but we do not want to use a real map, so we need a drawn map (taking maybe just the highways as a reference). Center of the map should be Hope, BC (Canada). Also the dots on the maps are not the exact locations (but close enough). The points should be big enough to click on and do not have to be dots.
-Final version should be submitted in fully layered Photo shop format easily convertible into a functioning HTML page.
