How Tracie P. started their web page design journey
Downtown Health & Fitness
We have a health and wellness complex that encompasses every aspect of living healthy: physicians, weight loss, aesthetics, medspa and more. Our newest addition will be a brand new fitness center with certified personal trainers and aerobic and strength equipment, as well as an integrated retail center with supplements and energy drinks/bars. We are in a revitalized downtown area and would like our site to be both modern/urban and professional to match our more medical sites.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Typical gym goers...20s thru middle-age audience focused on healthy living. This is a brand new gym and there are no others in the downtown area so we will need to attract a totally new market to the area. There is a small amount of residential/urban condo space in the same complex, but we will also be marketing outside the downtown area and to existing patients of the health center.
We would like to be provided everything we would need in a layered PSD or PNG to turn that into a full HTML/CSS based home page. So, any unusual fonts or stock images used would need to be included.
We are really open to the design as long as it feels modern and up to date but is also easy to use and professional.
We have a 200 pixel dark gray (#343434) and white column that will be along the left side of this page and all our other companies that are in the same building. So, the page will need to be sized so that all important elements will fit on average resolution screens even with this on the left side.
Also, we do not have a logo, so we are definitely open to some creativity with the font used for the company name. We have a part of our center's logo that could be used if it matched with the design, but that is totally optional!
Number of pages
We need a home page for the fitness center. The name of the center is "Downtown Health & Fitness" and this should be very clear. I am attaching our "temporary logo" which is really just a small image and the name of the company. Using this image is completely optional and is just being offered in case you think it will work with your design rather than just having the company name alone.
For colors, the gym will have black and the same blue as the Orlando Magic (also in the temp logo).
The links should be "Home", "Take a Tour", "Personal Training", "Classes", "Retail", "City Centre" and "Directions".
We would like the address and phone number on the main page, as well as a copyright statement (probably in the lower right as this is consistent with all our companies).
We will also have a small introductory paragraph with some information about the gym.
We will be using Life Fitness equipment (lifefitness.com) and like how their site's introductory page is really bold. However, on this site it's more of a splash screen and you need to then click a picture to get to the main content and links, and in our case it would all be on the home page. I am also attaching two logos of the equipment we will be using. It is not required that these be on the main page, but I thought I would provide them just in case it feels appropriate to add somewhere.
I am attaching our home page that we are developing for the entire center. We really like this design and the left hand column that lists all the companies is what will also go on the left hand side of this web page.
