eighty20.org needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 99 designs submitted by 23 freelance designers.
This is a project managed by eighty20.org (http://www.eighty20.org), a privately funded, not-for-profit organization that consults on, develops and funds online projects - both global and local - that facilitate social knowledge sharing between key actors.
The client is the United Nations - a program supporting an HIV Task Force for capacity building with the uniformed services.
Uniformed services include members of the peacekeepers, military, police, paramilitary, border patrol, coast guard, prison guards, and other law enforcement agencies.
They can play a distinctively unique role in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the communities where they serve, at home and deployed. Their point of interaction with populations provides an ideal entry point to address HIV vulnerability, through serving as powerful partners in HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, care, and treatment.
This Project:
Website Banner Design for an HIV/AIDS Task Force. Logo is in place but if you want to tweak it - all is appreciated. The website will be launched later this year and will serve as a repository of best practices, tools and services to support the women and men in the uniformed services.
United Nations, Uniformed personnel (Military, Police, Peacekeepers, Prison Guards, etc.), Policy makers and practitioners alike. Also for the general public.
The website is simple and complete from the design prospect. The client want to remain with the design, structure and color schema (Joomla based template design) but would like a more professionally finished banner and logo.
A possible variation or tweaking of the current logo would also be a nice touch if you have any ideas.
What is needed is a variation of the banner and possible the logo. Several files are attached
+The size is fixed at 635 x 150 pixels.
+The organization's name must appear in the banner - Global Uniformed Services Task Force on HIV
+The logo (or your variation of the logo) must appear on the banner
+The left-to-right fade of gray to white fits in with the design but can be stylized without the fade - the right hand side of the banner should be in white to pass with the Login Module
+Shadow components (like the military figures present in the middle of the banner) but can also be redesigned or styled differently
+Other style types of 'uniformed personal' (silhouette, stick-figures, icons, etc.) but try to keep a gender balance - female and male
+No weapons should be used in the design unless part of a uniform
