Think of Digg.com, but for stocks. Members can submit stocks or investment ideas to be voted up to the front page, where they can be discussed by the community. The site is Web 2.0 meets traditional finance.
The target audience is anybody into trading and investing.
I'm thinking this should be really simple. If you look at the wireframe I uploaded it already has everything the site needs. It is intentionally designed to be simple because the site should be simple and easy to understand and use. The same goes for the logo. I didn't create a logo separately because I think it also is simple. It doesn't need to be graphically complex as the brand name is already great. Just the simple square chat icon adds enough visual interest to establish the brand and effectively express what the site is about. The logo just needs to be a bit better designed.
So, I think the layout is already basically what the site should be. The only thing I'm not sure about is the placement of the "upvote" arrow. Also, please note that the numeric vote count inside the holder must be something that can be created with HTML font like Arial, Verdana etc., not picture numbers. One final note is that the main content area should probably have a white background. Thanks so much for participating! I'll be very active and leaving feedback during the contest. I only need the final file(s) in PNG format.
