Showwy
Showwy allows users to show off and browse photos of items and categories that they are interested in. Users post images and tag their items belonging to certain categories. Users then participate and vote images up and down. Users can participate or browse categories that they are interested in.
The target audience for this is those who are interested in sharing online. Those who already post in Flickr pools, Facebook groups, and "showoff your X" forum threads.
We want a simple, beautiful homepage that focuses on user-submitted content. We want a light color scheme. We want a centered design, not a stretched or liquid one.
We do not have a specific logo currently. We MIGHT like Helvetica + a little something extra as a logo, but do not hold yourself to this as a requirement.
We require all of the links, buttons, and functionality that are currently on our homepage. While you are not limited to only these functions and items, please do not go crazy and turn this into some incredibly busy monstrosity. We like simple, elegant, and easy to understand.
The homepage will have two featured sections - a top posts area and a top categories area. Each of these should feature the title, date, author, and views. You need to to keep the search, sign in/up, create new category, and footer links. Where, how, and what else is up to you.
Just so you know us, here are some things we like and do not like.
LIKE
- Apple design aesthetic
- Subtle curves and gradients
- Color, used appropriately
- Simplicity and a good UX
DISLIKE
- Abusing Photoshop filters
- Dark designs
- Confusing users
A layered PSD is required as the deliverable.
