Ken T got their new web page design by running a design contest:
The science of golf course health: Redesign our website!

Agronomic consulting and laboratory testing services for golf courses and sports turf. We sell these services "wholesale" to fertilizer sales and golf course consultants who then re-sell them "retail" to the golf courses themselves.
Needs to be responsive and work on all sizes of screens, from mobile to desktop. One of the main problems with our existing design is that the content is constrained to a fixed screen width. The design needs to be "theme-able." We need to be able to easily deploy this site for multiple retailers, each with their own logo, color scheme, and billboard/slideshow pictures.
All pages should have our logo, basic navigation, a message/status area ("You have signed out"), and Google Translate controls. Homepage: Needs a login form, large photo or slideshow, links/buttons to submit samples and get results, tagline/promo blurb, and a summary of available services. Client Dashboard: Needs links to submit samples/get results, brief instructions, link to detail sampling instructions, summary of recent analysis requests and available reports for them, a quick search/jump-to input field, and additional navigation for areas for the site that are only available once you sign in. Report: Color coded header (brown for soil, blue for water, green for plant tissue), bar graph(s), speedometer dial, pie charts, tabular data, and a footer with content information. We're not asking you to dramatically rearrange our existing reports: just to give them a visual face lift. Different retailers will have the opportunity to put their logos on these reports
What to avoid
No background videos (though a foreground slideshow of golf course images would be acceptable). No excessive animation on scroll. Baseline font size should be readable by people in their 40's and 50's. Golf course managers' eyes aren't as young as they used to be.
The main thing we're marketing is improved turf health and quality, especially in the greens. Pictures and visuals that include pristine turf, clear water, healthy grass roots, etc., will be attractive to our clients. We are marketing to golf course superintendents who have a fairly wealthy clientele that they serve, so the design of this site should feel upscale, luxurious, expensive, etc.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Ken T collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected 2 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
