How Dimitris Poulos started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a community website where people post notes about their experiences. The site encourages users to search notes/topics, post comments and share posts they like.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Twitter - we like the simple, clean and playful attitude of the site.
Stackexchange - we like the functionality - but would like our site to feel less complex and busy.
Skype - Friendly, rounded edges.

The purpose of the website is to encourage people to post notes and to read and comment on other people's notes.
The homepage has three main parts. (Please see attached wireframe)
1. A "share your note" small text box that allows a user to post their note.
2. An "Expert Note" area where we highlight expert notes along with an expert bio and small expert picture.
3. A "Note Feed" where non-expert posted notes appear
At the right margin is a box for "tips" that will dynamically change and give the user tips to complete their note.
Also on the right margin is a Topics area. Each note will have a topic and the topic area is simply a listing of recent or hot topics.
Overall, we want to have a welcoming and friendly site where people feel comfortable sharing their notes and reading the expert notes and notes of other users. We want the environment to be simple to navigate and for users to spend time reading, browsing, searching notes and ultimately posting notes. The site should be a place where users can easily navigate on their first time and a site where they will return to frequently.
Soft colours, rounded edges and clean lines would be preferred.
We are open to changes to the wireframe if it will allow for a cleaner interface and a more simple user experience.
