fauser got their new web page design by running a design contest:
A new layout for KONKURADO, the Swiss platform for architectural and engineering design competitions
Check out fauser's Web page design contest…
KONKURADO is an information platform on current, future and past architectural and engineering competitions of public and private procurement in Switzerland. KONKURADO is both a data archive and on the other hand a tool that supports the professional programming, tendering, publication and organization of competitions (=online competitions). The target groups are 1) Competition organizers who organize, announce, and archive their competitions with Konkurado 2) Architecture and engineering offices, that are interested in current calls, that want to participate in competitions and look around in the archive of competition results 3) researchers who use Konkurado for evaluations The site is in four languages (German, French, Italian, English). Konkurado means competition in Esperanto.
As data archive , the website should be clearly readable. But it should not appear dusty and boring, but appeal to the creative sector (architects and engineers) . This is about competition, meaning to find the best and most creative solutions for construction projects - according to this idea, we want the webpage to imply this wealth of ideas collected in this database. There is a new logo, which is to be used (this logo was generated through a design contest on 99designs - see below) . Our todays website is criticized for beeing a litte dull, although you find the informations very quickly, which is supposed to be ... In the past we concentrated on getting the database and all functions going - now it is the time to give it an attractive look and feel!
1) the landing page should show (all existing elements, please visit the site): - the list of actual Competition notices / Study contracts (online and offline competitions should be marked; now online competitions are shown with the mouse/ it should also show the label of SIA 142/143 conformity) - the list of actual Offer announcements - the list of previous competitions - the list of implemented projects - competition map (is not so important) and: - pictures of the competitions in the database which could change regularly - the possibility to sign up easily - the request of a procedure area (to set up an online competition) - search - my account - partner & Sponsors (maximum 5) - some facts & figures of the database (graphics also possible) maybe you have good ideas of things that could be added, like a newsblog.....??!! 2) the competition page should show (all existing elements, please visit the site): - the timeline - all relevant information of the competition - a map or a picture of the competition project (the winner-project) - all results of the competition - similar competitions - documents like the Jury report (and other like plans, competition program etc.) - all active buttons, when it is an online competition (see examples of online competitions, marked with a mouse) 3) search page (advanced search should show: - the research criteria (in the grey box on the right side – search in the competition database) - a search in the company database - a search in the customer database - a search in the people database - show the results of the searches please check the site with the following login (as subscriber with more features than non-subscriber): user: firstname.lastname@example.org pw: email@example.com and as non-subscriber just don't log-in ... then you see f.ex. the hints which advantages you get with an subscription (yellow ABO-button)... 4) the user account should show: - my account - the search mask - links to favorite competitions (marked with a star) - other individual link (f.ex. when part of a competition team, when announcing a competition, statistics etc.) Generally the site is an open site with access to most of the information. For special features (ex. like a more precise search...) and for push-Mails with the actual competitions costumers need to pay an subscription.
Please check our new logo, that should be included in the new website design. Check also the attached site examples or check the site with the login: user: firstname.lastname@example.org pw: email@example.com (or for the non.subscriber-view just go on the site without login) We are very open about the layout of the pages - make it look stunning!! You can also play with colors...it doesn't need to be black and white....
