Travel Mobile got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Facelift for Travel Mobile website.
Check out Travel Mobile's Web page design contest…
We sell prepaid mobile services and SIM cards to tourists and business travelers visiting the USA and Europe at present and will add more destinations over time. We provide a concierge level of service by providing select high quality plans for the customers to choose from, shipping the SIM to their home or destination, activating the service on a schedule chosen by the customer, and providing support before and during travel in the customer's preferred language.
Overall site refresh. Our current site is too "white", and we would like a modern professional look with some warmer tones that complement our logo. We would also like to improve navigational elements (headers and footers) and our landing page is intended to drive transactions. Specifically, we would like to see: * A less text-heavy and more visual representation of all sections, especially the "how it works" section * The same for the plans table (eliminate repetitive text by introducing icons or other graphics) * A prominent call to action "where are you travelling to?" * A dark footer
Primary focus is on the Landing (Home) page and secondary focus is on the "My Account" page. The remaining 3 pages mainly just need to be consistent in style. We have selected them to include a sample of all repeatable elements we will need across the whole site (e.g. sidebar, form, shopping cart). For the first round, we'd like to see the landing page and the "My Account" page. The rest can be addressed by the finalists.
What to avoid
We would like to avoid the use of people photos. We had thought maybe on the landing page have an image of 1 of 4 major cities (e.g. New York City, San Francisco, London and Paris) with the text in the middle that says "Get your SIM card before you travel". (see current www.travelmobile.biz landing page). Our primary logo is red, but we have black and white versions as well, so feel free to play with colors.
The site must be responsive and render well on mobiles (iPhone, Android, Windows). A mobile-first approach might be appropriate. Please provide a mobile (portrait-oriented) version for each screen. We would prefer to implement the site with Twitter Bootstrap, so if that influences your design, feel free to reuse some of its elements, as long as it doesn't look obvious (too many vanilla bootstrap sites out there already). But it's not required. ### UPDATE: Reduced text for "How It Works" How it works Step 1 - Order your SIM online and receive it by mail - Create your account - Choose your country, operator, SIM card size and quantity - Enter your shipping information Step 2 - Choose your plan and schedule your activation date - Log into your account and add your SIM - Choose your plan, any options and activation date - Receive your phone number via email on your activation date Step 3 - Install your SIM and use your service - Arrive at your destination - Remove your home country SIM and install your Travel Mobile SIM - You are ready to use your service! The attached files include both the wireframes for each of the pages in this project as separate png files and a reference-only copy of the full website (in pdf) for the designers to see how it all fits together. Our logo is also included.
