We are an online service that helps users build a resume through our web based software and content.
www.resume-now.com and www.livecareer.com
Find below two different types of websites: websites that have great style and websites that showcase the value of the product. Style http://highrisehq.com/ The full screen user image is beautiful and personable, while still showcasing the product. http://solidpink.com.au/ Good balance of style and substance. http://bundlr.com/ While it has a very generic layout, the style feels very homey and organic. http://telegramme.co.uk/ Really like the fit and finish that they apply to their site. Value of the product http://box.com/home/: Simple and highly actionable. Top half communicates one message, with secondary messages below for easy access and consumability http://proadvisor.intuit.com/product/intuit-tax-online/ito/index.jsp: Clear emphasis on their product. Above the fold, the user can “see it”, “hear it”, and “get it”. Users interested in learning more are given access to a wealth of information below the fold. http://www.etax.com/#welcome: Much like Intuit’s layout, has multiple call to actions for the same thing. However, I don’t like the slider. http://www.skype.com They represent their product and its features well, but it’s a little too corporate for what we want. However, below the fold, the content is easy to read.
The project is a simple prototype. The winner’s entry will have a fit-and-finish that aligns with our target demographic of 18-25 year olds in the US and Canada. We want to redesign the landing page for our resume builder product (www.resume-now.com). We are looking for designers who can reboot our page and come up with some fresh ideas that speak to our demographic while also maintaining high conversion rates. Primary Objective: The page should have a clear Call to Action, “Create Resume” Site Identification: * Site Name: Resume-Now * Tag Line: Win the job with a great resume! All the supporting layout and information modules are to reinforce the user towards the Call to Action. We believe one of our key differentiators is the ease of use of our product. Our best “demo” is to have the user start using the product. Once again the goal of the website is to encourage users to start creating their resume. Design Requirements Above the fold, the design must be simple and the design should compel users to the Call to Action. We are not wed to any specific layout—in fact, the selected winning entry will be able to balance both simplicity and information needed for the user to want to take action. Design must convey the following four key benefits of the product: * Easy to Use (most important): Step-by-Step guide on how to create a resume * Fast: Create a professional resume in 10 minutes (just 6 easy steps) * Professional: One-click designs for the professional look you want * Expert Advice: Pick samples written by resume experts Additional Elements (Please download design brief for more detail) Page must also include the following elements: • Live Help (Must be above the fold) • Returning Users (Must be above the fold) • Customer Testimonials (Sample Copy provided in brief) • Validation from partners • Membership and Accreditation
There are no sacred cows for this project. If you have a wildly different idea, let us know. Check out our detailed design brief. We've included versions that didn't work out for us. Demographics: Age: 18-28 Location: North America Target Users/Personas (in order of priority): • Users seeking guidance to create their first resume • Users who are looking to easily create a resume • Users who want take their existing resume and improve it with the help of experts Fit and Finish: Because we’re targeting a younger demographic, we want to convey a site that is stylish, but not too young to deter the older crowd. We’d like at least one design in two color schemes. The first color scheme can be whatever you would like, and for the second we’d like to use the colors on our existing sites. Please design for 1024x768
