Who are you known as?
UK Direct Shop
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
UK Direct Shop is a mail order company selling a variety of products (mostly health related) through national newspaper press advertising. Products include, knee supports, foot insoles, hearing devices. Our target audience is 60+ with an almost 50/50 male/female split.
Website orders account for 25% of all orders. Our main priority is to improve the look of the website making it easier for customers to navigate to find what they are looking for and to making it very simple and obvious to navigate and place an order. We also want to increase average order values by selling additional products.

John Lewis - for the clean simple look
Tesco Direct – clean simple and very clear
AO.com – clear and clean catagory bars
All the pages must be clean and simple with obvious calls to action and display well on desk top, tablet and mobile. Pages must be designed with The 60+ age group in mind and must use current industry design standards to optimise for conversion.
We would like a main image on a rolling banner showing 3 to 4 of our best selling products. Then 4 specific offers underneath, examples of offers we are running at the moment can be found down the left hand side of our current web page. The remainder of the page to be filled with our top 8 products
Clear presentation of the product using current industry design and standards for the layout to maximise conversion. Our customer are generally 60+ so all the images and key information has to be displayed in a clear and concise way. The design must flow in such a way the customer intuitively finds the ‘add to cart’ button. All prime information (images, product summaries, price and add to cart button) must appear above the fold of the page. Examples of layout that we like are AO.com/ John Lewis.
Must be responsive and designed in clear, logical and intuitive fashion enabling a smooth checkout.
