How Beautifully Brown Me started their t-shirt journey
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the t-shirt?
I would like a simple, elegant style, with a couture flair. A style that Sara Jessica Parker, Beyoncé, or Naomi Campbell would wear with jeans and heels. I like silhouettes, African-American natural hair (twists, braids, bun, for example). I am in the process of finalizing the logo. I've attached the latest revision but it's not quite there yet so I didn't include it as the logo. It gives a bit of an idea but it's still a little folksy for my taste. The silhouettes are more reflective of the sleek, modern yet classic style I am going for.
chocolate, mocha, coffee bean
vanilla, caramel, everything in between
her hair, her eyes, her lips, her skin
second only to her beauty within
*This was the original poem that launched the business. I am still not 100% sure about what letters I actually want on the front. Perhaps it just needs to be a design that represents these words and sentiments???? I've also played around with some french--J'adore mon CHOCOLAT...blanc, au lair, noir, tout. Just not sure. I am hoping that a great designer can help me to convey these thoughts and ideas, which, in a nutshell, is about loving the skin you're in, in every shade.
What to avoid
No afros (it's been overdone with this audience), no graffiti, no caricatures, stay away from anything that resembles the 70s and blaxploitation movies. Looking for a clean, modern, sophisticated look.
