We are four young professionals who are looking for a logo for our company, Octopong. Octopong is a drinking game featuring an eight sided table with players on each side defending their cups. Octopong has been referred to as “Beer Pong on Steroids.”
For a little backstory on us, A few years into college one summer vacation one of our partners got introduced to an eight-sided table called octopong. A group of college kids had made the table out of plywood. The rules where pretty easy to follow and the game was very fluid. The key points that stuck out to me when I first played was it was everyone on the table for themselves (only one winner), and you had eight people on the table at once instead of only four.
When we went to go buy this table, we found out that there is currently not one Octopong table currently in production. That left a hole in the marketplace that we are looking to fill.
Just like Beer Pong, our target audience is college students and young professionals, particularly men. Our audience is probably into college sports and can be found tailgaiting on the weekends during the Fall. We are looking to promote Octopong as an experience you can have with your friends. Playing Octopong should warrant memories that these college students and young professionals will have forever.
We are looking for a design that pops out and best appeals to our target audience. We are looking for something minimalist, yet eye catching at the same time. The logo should be fresh and young, and not dated and old. Octopong is a millennial brand and the logo needs to fit that from the font type to the colors and graphics of the logo.
Some ideas to toy around with is the name “Octo” or 8. Having something that incorporates Octagons, Octopus, etc. Also, having beer pong balls, red solo cups, or anything beer pong related could help as well. Note that the design doesnt have to have an Octopus. Use your creative juices to really think of a logo that Millennial men would appreciate.
We previously worked with a graphic designer who created some logos that didn’t fit with the brand(attached). We are looking for something that will really stand out to the millennial male.
