How fivefiguresnews started their logo & social media pack journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Each Friday we produce a concise, non-partisan email newsletter focusing on one important public policy issue with a brief article centered on five significant numbers. Our five-figure format aims to arm our readers with the essential facts and figures necessary to form intelligent opinions and confidently engage in weekend policy discussions. Our motto is “Get Fact-Up on Fridays!” Our readers are smart, engaged and interested in the world around them. We think of ourselves as a Daily Skimm, but for an older, more politically engaged audience. Topics are related to reproductive health care, health insurance, drug policy, addiction, environmental policy, education policy, tax policy, gun policy and our prison policy.
Who We Are
Two women raised in the Midwest who came of age studying, working, living and raising families in New York City. Our circle of friends and family vote right, left and center. Their perspectives can be as different as corn and quinoa. Our hope is to foster an environment of civil discourse in which we all recognize the same facts and share informed opinions in respectful ways, coalescing around shared values and impartial facts.

We would like a clever, minimal logo that includes a 5 and an F. We would like our facebook cover to be dominated by the text FiveFiguresNews and possibly to include a fun, sophisticated image/illustration - perhaps of two figures talking/debating/politely disagreeing. We like the female silhouette of the Daily Skimm newsletter both for style and portability, e.g. she is easily incorporated into advertising on the Daily Skimm newsletter.
