SaniTap Handwasher - product artwork with user instructions

We're a social-enterprise that works in several African countries. Startle launches ventures in the renewable energy and sanitation space. The objective of the business is to achieve positive environmental, social and health impact.
What's your vision?
We need to have illustrated user-instructions and artwork designed, which will be printed on a simple device that enables the washing of hands with soap in situations without running water. The product will be used by displaced people and refugees living in camps; families in slums; or homesteads in rural areas across the developing world. The product consists of a simple water-filled plastic bag with a push-pull spout, which can be hung from a nail, for instance next to a toilet or kitchen. Attached to the water bag, by a short string, is a plastic net containing a bar of soap. The product name is "SaniTap". Required for this contest is: the artwork for the front and back of a semi-transparent plastic handwasher bag. All artwork should be fully scaleable without loss of quality. The front of the bag should feature the product name 'SaniTap' and a ‘logo’ and a ‘logo’ that fits with this name. Be creative with the logo. Our thoughts were to use a cartoonish character (think Michelin Man) called 'hiGenie' who is playfully washing its hands - thus illustrating what the product is for. This image might later be used for hygiene promotion materials (flyers, booklets, etc used by NGOs to communicate good hygiene practices to mothers and children for instance). Possibly, it might become the company logo. The product and hiGenie character need to be attractive to young kids, but not to the extent that it is childish (and puts off use by adults). On the front, space needs to also be reserved for inclusion of the logo of another entity - such as the aid organisation that will distribute the product to the end user. In addition, the layout requires that sufficient space is also reserved for the optional logo of a donor organisation that provides funds to the air organisation. For example, the distributing organisation might be ‘Save the Children’ who received funds for the project from 'USAID' (this is an example only). Our company url www.sanitap.org needs to be included as well. To summarize, along with the SaniTap name and logo (hiGenie) and our url, the design should allow for inclusion of two other organisation logos in the space available - of which one is optional. You need to be mindful of this so that there is a clear space for a 2nd (and 3rd logo) should this be necessary; but that the design looks right even if there is no 3rd logo; or even no 2nd or 3rd logos. In terms of size, the NGO and donor logos should be larger than our own company logo. But should the latter two be absent then the product need to still look attractive. The rear of the bag contains pictorial user instructions. Because the product will be used by people across the world, some of whom might be illiterate, no text should be used. The illustrations need to be generic in terms of culture and gender. We will consider creative use of the hiGenie character in the user instructions, but this is not mandatory. We have attached a file which has the sequence of steps needed to use the product. Use this for clarifying your own understanding, rather than replicating this exactly. The purpose of the user instructions is to communicate the steps needed to effectively wash hands with this device. This is what the artwork should convey.
The product will be distributed for free to refugees or rural communities by NGOs (aid organisations) that implement hygiene education projects in order to reduce water-borne disease. Handwashing with soap is very effective in preventing diarrheal illness, which kills tens of thousands of people worldwide, especially young children. Such projects usually target women and children, although males are not excluded. Engaging with the project means you will genuinely be contributing to saving children’s lives.

I've worked with Miriam over and over again since first discovering her a year ago. She is unfailingly responsive, kind, and collaborative - even when projects get complex or confusing. It just doesn't get any better than getting an ideal end product from a designer who feels like your teammate and makes the process totally painless.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
