MetaFlyer needed a new print or packaging design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 31 designs submitted by 9 freelance designers.
I need a poster designing that will also be used as the front cover for a programme. The theme is Cinderella.
Desired Color Scheme:
Dark blue, pink
Accepted File Formats:
Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)
We're producing a pantomime (see wiki page on panto if you're unfamiliar with panto :-) ), based around the story of Cinderella.
I've produced the programme, but have run out of time to design the poster which will also be used as the cover. I have a concept in mind, but am open to other ideas.
The concept: Close-up of Cinderella's sparkling glass slipper on the steps of a palace (palace isn't shown); dark blue sky, with stars sparkling and a quarter-moon. The slipper is, of course, made of glass, so is transparent, but the slipper needs to have a hint of pink to reflect colours used in the inside of the programme. The word 'Cinderella' should appear across the upper third in a stylised font (as seen on most theatre posters).
As said before, other ideas are welcomed, so long as the word 'Cinderella' appears in the upper third, dark blue and pink are used, and space is left for the usual poster details (location, dates, prices, etc.), which I will place. The poster can be bitmap or vector, although bitmap is preferred. Layers should be used extensively.Â
Please avoid including anything with Disney imagery; the mouse is very litigious :-)
The poster needs to be A4 size (W:210mm x H:297mm) and able to be resized to A5 (W:148mm x H:210mm) for the programme cover (plus appropriate bleeds). File formats can be Photoshop or Illustrator (both to CS2), so that I can add the necessary extra layers. The poster will also appear as an image on our website.
One other, small thing: the winner will get a credit in the programme, with a link to your site/portfolio if you wish.
