As part of the project, we are aiming to develop a project-specific brand that can be rolled out across several types of printed and digital media including, posters, flyers, postcards, newspaper ads, facebook ads, and a project website.
We are seeking input into developing a branding and identity package, along with a suite of illustrations representing the various modes of transport.
The branding work involves developing a logo using the project title - 'Integrated Transport Strategy' with the tagline 'Moving Melton'. Ideally, this logo would be supported by other graphics that helped brand the project to give it a strong community feel. An example of what we are after can be found in Council's recent Council Plan (see attached).
In terms of look and feel, we are seeking to establish a 'community-orientated' style as the branding will be used to inform and engage members of the public and will be used to invite them to participate in the project. Any colours must be sympathetic to the Melton City Council corporate style and must use the same typography for body text and sub-headings (although other fonts can be used for the main headings. For further information, see attached Style Guide.
Ideally, we would love to see how this branding would be implemented through a mock-up example of a poster or other method.
In terms of the illustrations, we are seeking a set of four graphics/ icons that represent each individual mode of transport:
public transport (buses and trains)
walking and cycling
In the initial round, we are only hoping to see an example of the style of illustration only. Designers who are short listed will be asked to provide the remaining illustrations.
Once a winner has been declared, we will be asking a designer to prepare 3 different print formats with the branding incorporated as a separate contest / 1 on 1 session. The winning designer will be highly favored to do this work (although this is not guaranteed).
