Netrunner
Netrunner is:
- an open-source desktop operating system
- a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian/Kubuntu/KDE
For more information about us: http://www.netrunner-os.com
We're looking for a "Start" menu button to replace the standard KDE button for our upcoming Netrunner 2 release.
A screenshot for the upcoming release with the current wallpaper and theme concept can be seen here:
http://www.netrunner-os.com/KDE_Example1.png
The current button to be replaced can also be seen here:
http://dot.kde.org/sites/dot.kde.or…badges.png
The new button replacing the standard button has to be square sized (current limitation of KDE4?).
It should make use of our netrunner logo (see icons.zip below) in any identifiable shape, color or form,
while at the same time match our current theme as shown in the screenshot above.
It may feature the word "Run", but _not_ "Start".
Desktop users.
- All components of the start menu icon need to be made by yourself or useable for any purpose with the permission of the original author.
- The button design needs to be provided in SVG/PSD in various resolutions to completely replace the original.
Its best when we can try your creation to know if it fits various themes and it's extremely hard for us to tell from looking at a screenshot like picture only.
Your creation is protected by copyright and we will not use it without your consent, as given by winning this contest.
Note that we'll require access to individual layers and/or vectorial components of that button if we decide to win the contest, but until that happens you can link to a simple picture with all layers merged together.
The name of the winning artist will be mentioned in our release notes.
We may include some alternative buttons if we find them really good,
so if we like your design, whether you win the contest or not, we're likely to make you an offer.
The winning prize is $100, for other designs we'll deal with the artists individually.
Good luck to all of you and please do not hesitate to ask questions. We'll give you as much feedback as possible.
