Darim Online, a nonprofit helping Jewish orgs use social media well. http://www.JewPoint0.org
This project is for a logo for a new program called the "SOCIAL SERMON". The logo should include the words "social sermon" and do not need to include the name "Darim Online" or our logo.
We are looking for a look that is contemporary but not super modern (don't want the COLD feeling of modern). Inviting, warm, energetic, curious, exciting, feels like community not like technology, etc.
Any text should be easy to read. Graphics should focus on PEOPLE and COMMUNITY messages, however direct or subtle.
Darim Online is a nonprofit organization helping Jewish orgs use social media well. We have many programs and product, and the "Social Sermon" is one new campaign we're launching.
We are fun, casual, provide real assistance and value, and are helping the Jewish community learn about and embrace 21st century culture. We are NOT specifically a religious organization (or bring any religious assumptions) but we do work in the Jewish community. We are a small team of dedicated entrepreneurs who are doing what we love, and making it (technology for social good) feel infectious.
Our current org logo is attached (developed in 2000 - before Twitter!). We use Requiem and Gill Sans -- not required to use this in this logo at all, just for context.
Our org is going through some rebranding now, and if we like the design, we may want to work directly with you for other materials (logo, letterhead, web site, twitter, blog, etc.) for consistency in the near future.
Rabbis, teachers and other leaders of Jewish organizations. These are people who are perhaps using Facebook and Twitter already, or people who are interested in using them, but want to do so in a meaningful and purposeful way. They range from early 30's to retirement age, though I'd guess the majority are 40-60. The vibe should feel mission centric for THEM -- about community, learning, connection, meaning, Torah study, etc though it need not include any religious iconography such as a 6 pointed star or a Torah image or Hebrew lettering (not off limits, but not required).
Logo needs to translate well to B&W since we'll be making B&W copies that include this logo frequently. Please include the names of fonts you use since we may want to buy and use in coordinating materials.
Logo will mostly be used at the top of an 8.5"x11" page for marketing materials. If the depth of the logo and type treatment is more than banner depth, you may also want to include an alternate version which can be used in paces where space is limited.
