BankBlunders.com + RefundRecoverySystem.com
Our company sells a system for consumers to find overcharges in their bank statements and get their money back from the bank. We are very focused in this one area and not wanting a complicated website that distracts the reader from the message. The visitors are not there to be entertained but to learn about this problem and ideally decide to our our solution so we are wanting to build trust with our readers.
We are targeting home owners with a mortgage. This is your classic "mom and dad" audience. Age 27+, possibly with kids.
Ultimately the audience is sceptical about this problem of bank errors as they never imagine it can happen so our copy uses a lot of proof based elements for them (government statistics etc.) We want the image to say "we know what we are on about" to the audience so they feel comfortable and can know they are in the right place.
I do NOT want the design to be the dominant visual image.
Clearly the site is based around direct response advertising so the dominant image must be the headline. This is much more critical for the BankBlunders.com website. The RefundRecoverySystem.com website is less critical on this front as it is post purchase.
Much like the 99Designs logo at the top of most pages on this site, it is there and you see it but it doesn't distract from the purpose of the page.
This is why I am after something clean, crisp, modern but not too radical (the audience is 27+, not teenagers). At the end of the day we want to send the subconscious message of trust, reliability, accuracy, official source, consumer watchdog. We are dealing with home mortgages, money, banks and finance. Having said that I don't want to be old fashion and "stodgy" like a 200 year old bank with Corinthian columns out the front.
I am guessing some kind of logo with domain name included. Possibly include the tag line "Find errors in your bank statements guaranteed" ... I don't want to direct design too much as I am clearly not a designer.
