Oilprice.com
We are an energy news site with over 2 million monthly visitors. Our audience is primarily investment professionals, traders, analysts and oil market professionals. It’s an affluent audience that likes good news and data delivered in an easy to read and digest format.
We would like the top section of the homepage re-designed so we can include more oil prices and also threads from our new community. Please take a look at the attachment titled: Oilprice Design.
This shows the part we are looking to work on and have changed. Our main concern is section A – this is where we see the change happening.
Part B is only to be changed if it has to be. We quite like it as it is – BUT – if you have an amazing idea for this so it still looks appealing and professional please do have a go at it.
One thing is the breaking news bar in red you see at the bottom of section A. This works very well for us and we somehow want it to stay in a similar position without looking cramped or bad – please try and take this into account with your designs.
Now please take a look at the attachment titled: Marketwatch. If you look at the part that is circled and has a Z by the side of it you will see the sort of thing we are after. This is far from perfect, but it’s the nearest thing I have found online. The size of the fonts and letters is perfect. If you wish to see their website please go to: http://www.marketwatch.com
So we basically want something like this put onto Oilprice.com – but that is a perfect for the website with colour and layout.
This is for a professional audience. They want something that looks professional and that keeps in line with our image. It cannot be cartoonish or playful. It needs to look and feel like it is a part of a premium financial news website.
