Twitch 21 - Blackjack for the Flappy Bird Generation

Games & Recreational
Twitch 21 - Flappy Bird meets Blackjack. The basic idea is that you start with a random number that is counting down every second. You have five numbers below it to pick from (which are the cards you've been dealt) and each one you pick increase your total. Once you get close to 21 you stop and tally up your score. Your final score is based on the time you spent picking numbers, how close you got to 21 and any bonuses you pick will increate your score and your streak counter. If you go over 21, you lose your streak and score and have to start all over front scratch. The game is designed to be fast, fun and easy to play in short bursts.
I am looking for something clean and modern. Ignore that I used pixel fonts. I took a stab at something closer to where I want the design to go here (http://jessefreeman.com/dev-diary/redesigning-twitch-21/) but I need something that will work good in landscape and portrait. I am looking for clean, modern, typography heavy design for this. In my own mockup I used Din Light.
Splash screen (ideally one that can explain how the game works) and the actual game screen itself. The splash screen will just be the top part of the game and I'll slide it down to show the actual playing area so it's all one screen. You can use http://jessefreeman.com/dev-diary/redesigning-twitch-21/ or the demo game https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1028615/Twitch21Unity/index.html as reference for what needs to be in the game screen. I really need help with how to handle the instructions in a way that matches the design. Also the design needs to work in landscape and portrait as well.
What to avoid
Nothing photo realistic, or real world texture based.
