mikeia got their new app design by running a design contest:
??? Forestry Technology Co. looking for app design refresh
Check out mikeia's App design contest…
We help people who own forests know more about their trees. Our mobile app (name: "Plot Hound") helps the user navigate to a given location in the forest and enter tree data for that location. Target is primarily mobile devices, so has to look good on small screen / tablet.
We like the style, colors, and icons of our current main website (www.silviaterra.com). The mobile app should look similar, with more focus on function and easy to use. Any map or tree related imagery is good.
Our app (Plot Hound) is fully functional and already being used across the US. We're looking to add an extra design polish to delight the users before our next big release. Not looking for change in component or user flow, just styling. We like our current logo (attached) and our other general homepage design (www.silviaterra.com) All pages current screen shots are attached. 1) Dashboard User first lands here. Displays number of "cruises" and "plots" for user, navigation to "cruise list" page, navigation to "settings" page, navigation to "download" page, and "upload" action. 2) Settings User selects map type (Aerial, Topo, or None), Remote Access (yes / no), Logout action button, and other information on how to contact us. 3) Download Cruise List List of cruises user can click to download. Displays information on location, name, acres, plots, and download status. 4) Plot Detail (most complicated) This is where the user enters tree information into many dropdown select inputs. There is a plot info and tree info section, and at the bottom there are 3 possible actions - "complete plot", "remove trees", and "drop plot". User clicks tree info box (ie "species") and select dropdown of options is shown (with text input box to filter, and can be tabbed).

Thiyagu is amazing to work with. He brings out of box thinking and approach to his design. He doesnt do execute to what his customer ask for but he provides ideas and inputs that takes customers vision to the next level. Extremely Happy with how the web design turned out. I strongly recommend him for your next big thing.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
