How Matt Boynton started their logo design journey
We run a website called http://www.creativecontact.com, and are launching a website called creative-workspaces.com. We need to rebrand both so that they appear to be part of the same network (i.e. similar design elements with interchangeable text for scalability should we expand into other artistic arenas).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience is artists and designers who use web-based tools to grow their business by promoting their work, connecting with and collaborating with other artists, and looking to work easily on creative projects online. They are well-versed in online technologies, regularly use social media to spread the word, and are looking to seriously make a living from their art. They are early adopters.
We are working at the intersection of arts and business and want to convey a feeling of productivity with creativity. We are looking for a logo that stands out from other web 2.0 businesses (i.e., if you feel the need to stray away from cleanly-designed text-logos, that wouldn't be a bad thing).
We will also be using this logo on other media, as we run creative networking events with artists at progressive art galleries, so a logo that looks good on paper is important.
A logo, text-logo using the words Creative Workspaces, or combination of both would work. We need to include the words "Creative Workspaces" within the logo somewhere.
