Conference and Event Services (CES)
Sonoma State University is located 45 minutes north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. Our department schedules student meetings and contracts with external organizations to hold overnight conferences and special events. Our mission is to coordinate events that highlight campus facilities, services and staff to current and potential students, the local community and academic professionals. We strive to accomplish this mission by collaborating with internal and external clients to efficiently schedule these resources while increasing revenue and an enhancing the overall image and reputation of the University.
Anybody looking to hold an event or overnight conference/camp in Sonoma County. This would be mostly planners and coordinators who are looking for a "good-value" at a "unique" location. Our low rates and "better than your typical dormitory" lodging are the biggest selling points for professional conferences and family camps. Since we are a university, we would like our logo and eventual brand to resonate with the on-campus community (faculty and students) as well. So, the ideal logo appeals to the 18-24 year old college student, but also conveys a friendliness and comfortability that would attract a family camp.
Our abbreviated department name is CES. We think something with a key and these letters would be appropriate considering all the functions of the department relate to "opening" meeting spaces/lodging and we are the key to a successful conference or event at SSU.
The following can also be creatively added into the logo, but are not necessary and we prefer a clean and simple design.
Our University colors are blue and white. Our mascot is the SeaWolf. Our University Logo has some swoosh like thing that represents the hills behind our campus. Sonoma County is known for being "Wine Country" and all of our Residential buildings are named after grape growing regions.
