The Mounted Warfare Foundation is the parent organization that will, when adequate funds are raised, build a large (100,000 sq ft) Army/Military museum honoring mounted combat throughout the history of the United States Army. Our key themes will include horse-mounted cavalry, tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Air Cavalry, Fire Support and our close relationship to Texas, Central Texas, and Killeen, Texas. Definition of the Mounted Warrior: “The mounted warrior is the decisive figure in United States Military History. Using mobility and firepower, America’s mounted warriors have claimed victory for the nation from the Western Frontier to the deserts of Iraq. Beginning on horses, U.S. mounted soldiers quickly established the most advanced and flexible cavalry doctrine in the world at the time. As technology changed, so did the mounted arm, incorporating armored cars, tanks, self propelled artillery, and helicopters and using them in innovative ways to create the most feared fighting force in the world. Skilled in the integration of all arms in a maneuver force, built to constantly outpace our enemies, capable of fighting outnumbered and winning, this is the mantra of the mounted forces of the United States. This is their story.”
Our primary audiences are military, historical, re-inactors, academics, scholarly. Our Mission Statement is tailored to reach Soldiers and their family members, veterans, our community and scholars across the country. We do not have a slogan, but are open to ideas for one. The attached pictures are an idea of the Mounted Warrior through time, they are only to give someone a starting point for understanding what could be used. We are open to any suggestions and available to answer questions that may be helpful in preparing a logo for our foundation.
