How marena started their logo design journey
Tai Pan Trading is an importer of quality home décor products and is a huge favorite of designers, interior decorators, and just about everyone seeking to beautify their homes and surroundings. Tai Pan's newest retail venture is called TPT Home. In 2010 we are upgrading the look, the feel, and the style in our new Costa Mesa, California store. We want this newest evolution to be reflected in our logo. Our other 5 stores will remain Tai Pan Trading, Wholesale Home Decor, with the new brand representing our retail outlets.
TPT Home is a destination shopping experience. Some customers will spend hours browsing through the many items that beautify and equip a home. TPT Home will provide a good value, a myriad of choices, fine service, and an exciting and fun shopping experience. The store is 40,000 square feet of dishes, floral, decor, yard and garden merchandise, furniture, and holiday merchandise. Many of our fixtures are made from reclaimed architectural salvage, vintage furniture and doors, as well as edgy metal materials. The experience is inspiring, diverse, and full of exploration.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Many of our customers also frequent Crate & Barrel, Anthropologie, Restoration Hardware, and Pottery Barn. They choose us over these other choices in some cases because of our quirky spin on some design concepts as well as our full line of holiday and floral merchandise that can't be found in these other outlets. Our audience tends to be somewhat affluent, spends their extra income on home projects and design, decorates for holidays and gatherings, and are usually from age 30 to 55. While our name may be somewhat generic we want to be sure to convey a certain style and panache with our logo design.
The Logo must say TPT home in some clear and legible form. We had one logo created for us that many people in the company liked but we are still wide open to completely different concepts . For us getting away from "too generic" is important. The name of the store is quite non-descript and we were hoping to create of an image with some depth using the logo design. We are most interested in a black and white design. I have been attracted to the look of vintage bottle labels; I included some pictures downloaded from Google under "vintage bottle label", but more contemporary designs have also appealed to us.
Please avoid a peaked roof design or anything with a house in the logo, in our particular industry it is quite overused.
