The target audience is web application developers ranging in experience level from beginner to advanced. These types of developers can be both logical and creatively minded and will appreciate a bold, beautiful and simple and efficient design in the publication.
We are looking for a logo for our online publication. The logo will be used in our site header, pdf publication as well as on selected merchandise. When thinking of colors go for something bold, but do not use more than 2 colors. If you want to use more than 2 colors provide a 2 color print version of the logo as well.
Currently we are leaning towards the idea of a character-type logo, such as Google’s Android, and do like the idea of something robotic but we are not tied to the idea and are willing to accept all ideas.
The publication is called DivideByZero but we do not want the name in the logo. When creating the logo please make sure it can fit in a square space, such as laptop stickers. If designing a character, please leave some area within the character that can contain partner branding.
Here are some logos we like:
The Android for the Google Android OS
Adobe's A logo
The Target Bullseye

Like some of these above, it would be great if the logo could also be incorporated into the words (For example, Amazon's arrow logo is recognizable with and without the words Amazon.com, but the arrow fits nicely in with the words). Consider some designs that contain the numeral 0 (zero) with a slash through it.
The files we will require are:
Vector file format - .ai (CMYK)
Raster file format - .Layered .psd (RGB)
