merbla needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 105 designs submitted by 40 freelance designers.
Aplomb
Merbla Solutions (http://www.merbla.com) is developing Aplomb a new range of IPhone, IPad, Android apps backed with a social web site targeting sporting statistics for amateur, semi professional & professional sporting organisations.

Sports men & women, sporting professionals, sporting administrators such as coaches, managers etc.
This design will be used within the application and on web sites. It also will be used in social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook etc.
This design has to be recognisable in both miniature and enlarged forms of the logo with a Web 2.0 feel.
There are no specific requirements however
1. Pastel colours are preferred.
2. Typeface needs to be clear and if possible portable to devices
3. The palette for the web site and applications is yet to be determined so a logo that is versatile could lead to further design opportunities.
4. All images and assets should be original eg. not clip art

Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
