How tifo03 started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Fachgruppe Spechte (="Special Interest Group Woodpecker" in German)
What’s your company slogan?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The „ Special Interest Group Woodpecker “ is a union of ornithologists specialized in woodpeckers of Europe and worldwide. The umbrella organization, the „German Ornithologist’ Society” (DO-G), is dedicated to the promotion of all forms of ornithology. Founded in 1850, the DO-G is now one of the oldest scientific organizations worldwide and Germany’s leading association of ornithologists.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Our working group is looking for a new, modern logo for its website (http://www.spechte-net.de) and publications. The logo should be used as a banner on top of the website (with showing the name “Fachgruppe Spechte”) and as a smaller, reduced version (logo only, no text) on posters, papers and invitations. The logo should definitely show a woodpecker in a stylized, but obvious way (even sketched). Please have a look at the sample logos, which illustrates very well the style we are looking for.
The woodpeckers should show a european specie (no hood).
UPDATE: we now have lots of pretty similar designs where the woodpecker is on the left. Maybe you can try to come up with something else, like using two woodpeckers, a different angle, woodpeckers in a hole etc. You can also play around with position of fonts and typo.
Be creative, find variations, so we can better evaluate your work in general. Exact details can be adjusted in round 2.
