We have built a framework for a motorcycle specific social network. It's a hub from which individual motorcycle social networks can be branched, yet all linked together in various ways for enhanced user experience and faster growth. think of it as a "niche ning" concept, but all the individual sites work together.
We need the logo for the main network hub, the place where businesses and organizations will go to inquire about joining our network and using our app to help their business go social.
Seeking a logo for "Ride Apps", which is the name of the application we've built for launching individual motorcycle specific social networks. We're going to use this logo to build a minimal / web2.0 page to explain our concept and accept inquiries from businesses wanting to 'go social' on our platform.
example of style of site we intend to use this logo on: boxee.tv
the logo will also be used on postcards and in some graphics placed in various print media.
Our platform will likely be extended to bicycling and boating next. As such, I'm seeking a logo style that is unique, but a plus is if it can be edited into CycleApps.com and BoatApps.com logos later with some design tweaks. For now, we just need a sweet logo for RideApps.com
Logo for RideApps.com, web2.0, open on color but suggest use of green or blue. not red, not purple/pink or girly.
the style of design we like is the logo at
http://3.cycleapps.com/ - clean, web2.0, unique.
our very temporary placeholder for the RideApps logo is at the bottom of that page... or at
http://3.cycleapps.com/img/fatmoto/powered.jpg .. do not let this little sample confuse, we do not want it to say "rideR apps" but instead "Ride Apps", also do not feel you need to have with a sprocket.. I'd prefer you did not actually. I'm NOT looking for a clone of this (we can do that), but it is simple and web2.0 ... hopefully you can replace this C- sample with an A+
An emblem or graphic that ties it to motorcycling is acceptable, but it must be modern/cool. don't put a motorcyle on it unless it just rocks, and a memorable logo that is simple will go a lot farther than some logo with a clipart motorcycle dude on it... I have a hard time seeing such a logo with all that graphic detail working.
Please show me this logo on a white, gray, and black background.
the logo must look good large, but must especially look good in both medium size (such as 300px) and small (such as 140px wide).
Legibile font is key. fonts that are hard to read will be quickly disqualified. The font needs sent with the logo please.
Unique and memorable, with a modern/clean style is the basis for selecting the new logo.
playing around on 99 designs, I liked these logos:
http://99designs.com/contests/18987…es/1495984 - so unique and well suited for them (great for tshirt or ad)
http://99designs.com/contests/18987…es/1506659 - clean/stylish
http://99designs.com/contests/18987…es/1501770 - clean/stylish and memorable!
http://99designs.com/contests/18917…#entry-170 - too perfect for the design spec!
Take a little leash, try something cool, but too much detail pls ... A great concept will likely win, not heavy artistic complexity.
If you were able to convey it was a social network within the logo, while keeping it clean/stylish, that's a nice bonus!
- no crazy, scripty, or "etched/grunge/etc" font types
- nothing really wild... no zebra, no high detail... clean, stylish, and memorable.
- don't feel pressured to put some motorcyle graphic on there, but if you can come up with a cool helmet or other moto related item to tie in the niche, or simply convey it's a social network, and it's unique/memorable/cool.... sweet.
