How Naomi Marietta started their logo design journey
I am a photographer. Resale: Alphabet Photography, I take pictures of objects in the world that resemble letters and then sell the individual prints. Service: I do portraits, weddings and editorial. I am also hoping to do more photojournalism and commercial work in the future. I am not over the top feminine. Modern with a hint of frill. I do not like to take posed pictures; I prefer to catch the moments when no one knows you are looking. I love to shoot outdoors and use natural light whenever possible. If it is possible to be both contemporary and earthy, well that would be me. I love both earth tones and gray and white. I am not whimsical, on the contrary I am very focused. But there is a genuine softness to my work.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My client focus is families, brides, gift-givers (often women 30-50). I would also like to attract the attention of potential magazine/newspaper clients.
I'm looking for a logo that is made up of a simple type treatment and an icon for Marietta Photography. A modern and elegant approach is desired. Nothing too girly although a bit of femininity ok. The logo needs to work both online and in print as well as look good overlaying photographs.
I would like the icon to relate to my profession or business name while staying away from the cliché (no stock illustration-like cameras). I am fairly open to what this could be but would like to keep it very simple and clean. The icon should also rest on the same line as the type treatment (left or right) instead of stacking on top of it.
The logo should be up to 2 colors and look good in b/w.
I attached some logos I find interesting. All of the photos do not meet the criteria I listed above, but I do like the feel of these logos.
