theBand-Aid needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 78 designs submitted by 29 freelance designers.
theBand-Aid.com is a new site that offers resources to musicians. Basically, we make it easier for them to do all the things necessary to be successful as a band. Many bands are great at creating music and writing songs, but when it comes to booking shows, creating a street team, keeping fan lists, sending out newsletters, making flyers, writing up contracts, contacting venues, promoting shows, (breathe)... you get the idea - those are the things that creative types either don't have the time for or aren't very good at... or both. That's where we come in.
Although we're set up similar to a networking site, theBand-Aid is not another Myspace or Facebook "wannabe". The site is made to be a toolkit for musicians offering many different resources.
Our target is obviously musicians. Anyone in a band or solo act who wants their music to be heard by even one person.
Since this is targeted for musicians, we are looking for something a little bit edgy and creative.
We are pretty open to different ideas and designs...
You may want to play off of the obvious wordplay of a band aid in the design, or not.
You may want to include a guitar or instrument, or not.
You may want to do something completely different and wow us... or not (but you probably should).
We do not yet have a slogan or tag line. If you think of something you think is clever, put it in. Not mandatory.
The logo needs to in some way appeal to musicians and in some way convey that we are a service to them. An "aid" to "bands".... hence theBand-Aid.com!
ALL WORK MUST BE IN .AI FORMAT! (ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR)
