New logo wanted for Yellowbird Publishing

We create and sell digital products online, such as eBooks, audiobooks, video courses, and provide content via subscription membership sites. We are involved in a range of markets, including dog training, Internet marketing training, wedding speeches, weight loss, senior living, and many more.

I like the idea of creating a bird as part of the logo. My thought is to have a powerful bird design - like an eagle. I like the idea of a "sharp-edged" design similar to the post office eagle. But the the image would be of a full bird, frontal view with a huge open wingspan - indicating it is encompassing (overseeing) each market that we are involved in. This is just an idea...I am open to other ideas/approaches. My other thought is that the logo should look equally pleasing in its "image+text" form and its standalone "image" and standalone "text" forms. There will be many times when we will use the complete "image+text" logo, and other times when we just want to use the "text" component or "image" component of the logo. For example, we might want to use the complete "image+text" logo for places like website main headers, stationery headers, press releases, etc. And we might only want to use the "image" or "text" component of the logo for website footers, email signatures, various types of client correspondence.
