Papillon Bistro & Bar
Papillon is a very popular French bistro and bar located in New York City.
Papillon (named after his butterfly tattoo) was the nickname of the famous early 20th century French man Henri Charriere. To learn more about this fascinating man please read this...
Henri Charriere escaped from multiple jails and later became famous for his best-selling memoir.
Papillon Bistro and Bar has many customers from the banking industry. They have high incomes, and are attracted to Papillon because it is near their offices in midtown Manhattan, has a beautiful interior and great bar space, and great French bistro food classics.
Words to describe Papillon would be...
Sophisticated. French. Classy, not trendy. Slightly mysterious (like Papillon). Seductive. Confident. Masculine.
What we are not: We are not Feminine or Ultra French.
1) High income, financial professionals looking for after-work drinks (late 20s and older) and maybe dinner at the bar
2) NYC tourists looking for lunch
3) Office managers / secretaries booking office parties
The present logo is not very sophisticated (see http://www.papillonbistro.com )
We are going to update our website, but first we need a new logo.
The logo should be suitable for a popular French bistro, while also communicating some of the history behind Papillon the person.
The logo should not be too modern or futuristic.
We are open to exploring new color schemes and styles as long as they succeed in showcasing Papillon Bistro as a sophisticated, classy NYC French bistro with an unusual storyline (that of Papillon).
Consider exploring use of the "Butterfly" tatoo in the logo, although this is not required.
Please provide the final logo in as many formats as possible (layered hi-res files, etc.)
If non-standard or custom fonts are used please specify so that we can use it for future needs.
