Carmot Therapeutics needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 159 designs submitted by 25 freelance designers.
Carmot Therapeutics, Inc.
Carmot Therapeutics is a biotech startup that will transform the way drugs are discovered.
Despite many exciting biological advances, the pharmaceutical industry has not been able to find drugs that exploit recent discoveries. Current drug-screening approaches are limited in their ability to access the chemical diversity necessary to identify candidates for new and unusual proteins.
To solve this problem, we have developed a potentially disruptive technology called Chemotype Evolution. Chemotype Evolution can evolve small drug molecules iteratively through successive rounds of screening and selection. Importantly, Chemotype Evolution opens access to vast chemical diversity and allows Carmot to rapidly home in on molecules with unique, superior biological properties. Such molecules would be nearly impossible to find with traditional methods. In addition, Chemotype Evolution is fast, efficient, and applicable to many different diseases.
Carmot is using its technology to discover its own drugs and is also partnering with a few select companies to apply the technology to targets of mutual interest.
Carmot recently closed its first round of venture capital funding and is seeking a logo.
Our target audience currently consists largely of scientists in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, but at some point we hope to develop our own drugs so will want to appeal to a broad audience of people in the health care industry.
Carmot is looking for a logo for all purposes – website, business cards, stationary, etc.
A few ideas as jumping off points:
Carmot is the active ingredient in Philosopher’s Stone, the legendary alchemical substance capable of turning lead into gold and achieving immortality, so something to do with alchemy would be good.
Another possibility would be to try to graphically capture the evolutionary aspect of Chemotype Evolution.
Finally, something about bringing fragments together into a larger whole could work.
Please no clip-art or stock images.
