T. Willson needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 54 designs submitted by 12 freelance designers.
Taylor Children's Community Choir
We are an educational institution that will begin offering children (Grades 3-6) a choir experience. There will be an emphasis on fun and discovery, but also on quality music and instruction, building on the success of our popular adult community choir. As one of the programs in a new educational initiative, the choir will be prominently featured in our promotional material.
We value service, growth and life-long learning. This design will represent a group of singers who share those values, and who are musically gifted, energetic and joyful.
This choir will be made up of children aged 8-12; girls and boys will be included. They will come from a wide metropolitan area, from different schools and churches and ethnic backgrounds, but we expect many of them will have an existing family connection to our institution (ie., a parent who is an alumnus or is in the adult community choir).
Many participants will come from local churches, and the choir will focus heavily on songs for Christmas and Easter (with concerts at the end of each semester), though this will be a community choir, open to the public (non-audition).
UPDATE: Please note that I have changed the color requirements -- full-color designs welcome, but design must also work as a 1-3 color design (for embroidery, hot-stamping, etc.).
Winning design must be submitted as a vector image (.eps, .ai, or .cdr), unlimited colors but must also work as a version with limited color (greyscale or 2-3 colors), and must be suitable for reproduction in print, online and on apparel (such as t-shirts for choir members).
The main element of the winning design should be the name of the choir; the lettering should have a fresh, modern feel (not too heavy, too flowery or too difficult to read), and certainly not childish. Submissions must be free of any copyright or third-party issues.
Our main institutional color is Pantone 661C, and we may opt to use our main wordmark ("TAYLOR") as part of this; depending on submissions received, we may decide to use our official wordmark ("TAYLOR") as part of the final logo, so you may submit a design that uses only the text "Children's Community Choir" if you wish.
