Rice Masonry
We are the new young attractive female business owner. We are taking over for dad who is finally retiring. It is time to reinvigorate the business with a branding and marketing overhaul.
The overhaul is going to start with this logo.
The next generation general contractor, exterior designer, commercial and residential builders.
We would like to show respect for those who have been in the trade for a number of years (older white males) so we do not want to make a complete departure from what you would expect older white males to appreciate.
Also - We are in the process of "going green" with our business practices. Think "environmentally friendly" while designing if at all possible.
It would be prefered if it could have in it somewhere an brick hammer (http://tinyurl.com/y9nn2up). This is not to be confused with the many other sorts of hammers. It would also be preffered if it could have a brick trowel (http://tinyurl.com/yl8njsd). Again, please do no mistake non-brick tools for brick tools.
Here is a link some their current marketing materials.

The full business name is "Rice Masonry LLC". We want to place more emphasis on the "Rice" in the name. Rice is the brand. We do not intend to do only masonry work in the many years to come. The LLC is not to be a component of the logo.
They have a slogan that may also be included (they are not quite sure if they like it):
Building Green. Building Strong.
The old owner (dad) is loosly insistent that we keep his colors (black with red). The new owner (daughter) does not want to disrespect dad by advocating a complete departure from those colors, but she is willing to explore other options. She has mentioned "brick red/orange" and "earth tones" as colors she might be interested in.
The final deliverable must be a fully vector .ai file created in Adobe Illustrator. We intend to use it on the new website, on the new business cards, and on the new company letterhead.
