How Associations started their logo design journey
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION FOR THE SURGERY OF TRAUMA
We are ANZAST, in short.
Trauma Surgeons in Australia and New Zealand have never had their own professional not-for-profit association. We have previously congregated under the auspices of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, representing all aspects of surgery. We now need our own association in order to run training programs and further education initiatives specifically in the field of trauma surgery. We are the surgeons who are the first do deal with the victims of trauma in order to save lives, so we have broad skills, rather than the highly specialized skills of the orthopaedic, burns and other specialist surgeons who eventually take over from us later.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The key stakeholders representing this market are:
* trauma surgeons in Australia and New Zealand who may become members
* All participants in the field of trauma - from ambulance pesonnel, emergency nurses, critical care hospitals, other surgeons, suppliers
*The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons - the peak body for surgeons in Australia and New Zealand
* The public who benefit from the services of trauma surgeons
We are seeking a logo to be used on all stationery, collateral and materials.
We wish to represent the inclusions of Australia and New Zealand - perhaps some subtle incorporation of design elements which indicate that both countries are involved.
Clearly the field is medical - surgery - trauma - professional.
There are many Associations and Colleges of surgery around the world - some of which have very clean logos - many still have old-fashioned shileds and crests. We would be looking for something clean, modern, elegant representing the above themes.
We have no preconceived ideas about colours nor the use or inclusion of the name. Options with/without a/the name would be good to see!
