Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are an investment advisory firm called Village Investments working with local investors who have a goal to ultimately create economic stability & positive change in the community through entrepreneurship and training. We are an investment ecosystem that brings together seasoned, local investors along with high performing, underserved entrepreneurs to build mutually beneficial relationships. Our emphasis is both on investment advisory and community empowerment.
Our mission statement: 'To provide local investors with access to investment opportunities in entrepreneurs of color whose ventures provide economic empowerment to low-to-moderate income (LMI) communities.'
Our Vision: 'An ecosystem composed of a collection of passionate, local investor groups in major US cities engaged in investing in and supporting entrepreneurs of color that are changing the lives of underserved populations in those cities, through employment opportunities, financial stability, and local commerce. To mentor those entrepreneurs to become the next generation of investors.'

We are a startup so we want to retain that innovative and youthful feeling of startups while maintaining the trust and sophistication of a established investment firm. In our previous contest, designers focused solely on the 'investment advisory firm' part of our identity and left out the community building aspects of our mission. The latter is also core to who we are so please remember to include it in your design. Some keywords to guide you further: ‘community investing’, 'peer-to-peer', ‘creating community opportunities’, 'people supporting each other'. I've also included a pdf of our model to give you even greater insight into what experience we are trying to create for investors. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Feedback May 18th: The designs are headed in the right direction but I think the emphasis is too much on houses. Remember – we are commercial financing (financing businesses). So images that look like “Mainstreet USA” are better than images that are clearly residential homes."
