Paganus is great to work with. Love my cover! He made my book come to life.
How MichaelB69 started their logo design journey
Our DBA is "Brite Ideas Hydroponics and Organics" we also use "Brite Ideas Garden Supply" http://www.bihydro.com
We are a small garden supply store here in Austin, Texas. We sell to everyone from ladies with orchids, to white guys with dreadlocks ( If you know what I mean). We have been in business for about 10 years, and have been online for about 3 years. Our business has been built on the trust of our customers, and our solid reputation. We have over 20 years of experience, and we are the oldest hydroponic and organic garden specialty garden supply in Austin. We have a wide variety of grow lights, hydroponic garden kits, along with award winning soils and nutrients from around the world. We sell all the accessories to have an indoor or outdoor garden, but we mainly specialize in INDOOR gardening. Our website says "Quality Product" , "Competitive Price", and "Service After the Sale" I don;t know if all of that can be conveyed through the logo. Mainly we want to convey "Massive Monster Growth" through the use of our products and advice.
WRITE ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. WE DID NOT GET TO DESCRIBE EVERYTHING WE WANT IN THE BRIEF BELOW. I WILL DO MY BEST TO RESPOND. We want to be able to interchange the words
" Hydroponics and Organics" with the words " "Garden Supply" if we want to. We also want the color of the font to be tangerine orange, stencil font, with thin green rough outline of lettering. This does NOT apply to " BRITE IDEAS" which we would like to look like it glows.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience is most likely male ages from 18 to 54. They are the type that are constantly tweeking their garden environment to get the maximum yield out of their crops. Their objective is to grow the largest, tastiest, most aromatic plants, and potent plants that they can. That is why we like the "monster plant mascot" seems to convey that message. Our target audience reads publications like urban garden. http://urbangardenmagazine.com/
They are politically savvy, and are independent thinkers. They are industrious, entrepreneurial, creative individuals. They like to experiment with different nutrients, and methods to help them get the most out of their garden. Most of them are NOT likely growing tomatoes, if you know what I mean. That does not mean we want pot leafs in the logo, but keep that type of gardener in mind, when helping us create our mascot logo. Here are a few websites that have artwork that appeals to our customers. http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/pr…tsfox.html (look at their products and the artwork on the labels. We also like Humboldt Nutrients artwork as well. http://www.humboldtnutrients.com/bigup.html also advanced Nutrients has some good artwork too. http://www.advancednutrientsonline.…rod=conpk2
WRITE ME IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU START, SO YOU DON'T WASTE ANY TIME. WE ARE VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT WE WANT.
We feel like a person that is good at illustrating monsters, reptiles, dragons, and plant life are going to do well at this. We are looking to do a "seymour" type character from little shop of horrors. Here is an example of "seymour" http://www.loughboroughtownhall.co.…op-web.jpg
We already have a logo on our website, which we want to keep the basic foundation of a monster plant embracing a light bulb, and flexing its muscles. Our website is http://www.bihydro.com which has our current logo on it. We feel that the person that did this, did not have the talent or interest to do the detail we need. It looks too SIMPLISTIC, like something you would find on a toy box. We want a logo that looks so cool we can put it on T shirts, print ads, signage, and our website. We want it to look almost like a tattoo, that you could put on your arm. We want the logo to be in layers so that we could eventually do a flash version, where the light bulb lights up, and illuminates the plant, and either its sunglasses, or eyes.. It would probably be a plus to know what a grow light bulb looks like. We want the tentacles of the monster plant to have tomatoes, and a few other vegetables toward the bottom, and somewhat wrap around the words "GARDEN SUPPLY" which we want done in a tangerine orange, stencil type letters.
