Dollar or Two
We are a small company that has operated a small chain of dollar stores (discount variety stores) in the Australian market for over 15 years.
We are now preparing to launch a new brand on the market that will bring a new level of sophistication to the industry through an expanded range of value priced quality items, displayed in a more comtemporary and customer friendly manner.
We are troubled by the sharp increase in the number of retailers who masquerade as discount variety operators and yet sell homewares, figurines and the like well in excess of (AUD)$100/ item.
We will be focused on the lower, high volume end of the market with the majority of merchandise priced at $10 or less.
We will be featuring an increased product range displayed in a manner never before seen in the industry and offer well packaged products that will appear a lot more expensive than what they will acutally cost (the customer).
Our main target age bracket is the 18-40 year old female, although the stores will offer merchandise for males and females across all age demographics. Accordingly, the logo should not polarize customers or be overly female focussed.
We are seeking a simple yet "happy" and "vibrant" logo that will reflect the image of the brand and highlight the improved presentation throughout the stores. Designers are at liberty to include some imagery (i.e. like using the "o" in "Dollar" or "Two" to represent stylised (AUD) coins or a contented "smile" underneath The Brand) although we would like the designs to be simple and uncluttered. Be creative!
