Great Hills is embarking on an important phase in its journey to fulfill its vision be a premier private, member-owned club in central Austin with a friendly membership. The strategic plan outlines many changes – the biggest being a new clubhouse and facility. In conjunction with this milestone, we want to rebrand Great Hills Country Club to reflect the future without alienating the current membership.
Great Hills Country Club is a progressive family oriented private golf, tennis, swim, health and social club, located in the Northwest Austin area. At its core, Great Hills is a golf club with its heritage brand rooted in “great golf; great golfers”. As the demographics of the area has evolved along with increased demand for tennis and social amenities, Great Hills has an opportunity to create a modern yet enduring brand that not only is the cornerstone of the neighborhood, but attracts members throughout greater Austin. This will begin with a new identity and manifest itself in consistent execution and implementation.
A club is defined as an association or organization dedicated to a particular interest or activity. Great Hills started as a golf club and transitioned its brand over a decade ago to be a country club. As we look to the future and evaluate the traditional perceptions of a country club, Great Hills has an opportunity to create its own definition of “club”. A definition that is defined by each member...a place to feed one’s passion for golf; a place to play and compete in tennis; a place to meet friends and get cool on a hot summer’s day; a place to enjoy awesome, healthy food and tasty libations; a place where they really do know your name...a place to belong
Current members: over 50% between the age of 40-60 with the majority being golf members first and tennis 2nd with social playing a strong presence in the neighborhood. The majority of these members live within 5 miles of the club.
Above all – Great Hills is differentiated as member owned and very friendly. It has a unique culture driven largely by the love of golf and member’s desire to be part of a “club”. Unlike other clubs, Great Hills is an equalizer – where social status and relative income do not matter, but rather the love of golf tennis or one’s family is the galvanizing element that brings everyone together at the club.
Personality traits: warm, friendly, authentic, connected. Modern and simple. Understated.
